The Menu Problem on Squarespace
While Squarespace offers beautiful templates, updating a linked PDF menu involves deleting the old file, uploading the new one, and reattaching the link to every button and navigation item. Menu Links bypasses this by giving you one permanent link that you only set up once.
Step 1: Get your Menu Links URL
- Sign up for a free Menu Links account.
- Upload your current menu PDF.
- Click the "Copy" icon next to your permalink in the dashboard.
Step 2: Add to Squarespace Navigation (Main Nav)
- Log in to your Squarespace account and open your site editor.
- Click on Pages in the left-hand menu.
- Under "Main Navigation", click the + (Plus) icon.
- Choose Link under the "Other" section.
- In the Link Title field, enter "Menu".
- In the Link field, click the gear icon, select the "Web Address" tab, and paste your Menu Links URL.
- Apply and Save. Your menu is now instantly accessible from your header.
Step 3: Add to a Squarespace Button Block
- Navigate to the page where you want the menu button (like your Home page).
- Click Edit in the top left corner.
- Add a Button Block or click on an existing one and select the pencil icon to edit.
- Under the "Link" field, paste your permanent Menu Links URL.
- Click outside the block and hit Save in the top left corner.
Menu Updates Made Easy
Future menu updates happen entirely inside the Menu Links app. Just upload your new PDF to Menu Links, and every button and link on your Squarespace site will automatically point to the brand new menu. No website editing required!
