The Hassle of Wix Uploads
When you update a PDF menu directly in Wix, the file URL changes. You have to locate every button and navigation link that pointed to the old menu and manually update them to the new file. Menu Links solves this forever by providing one URL that never breaks.
Step 1: Generate your Permanent Link
- Sign up for a Menu Links account (it's free to start).
- Drag and drop your current menu PDF into the dashboard to create a new link.
- Copy your new permanent link. This URL will never change.
Step 2: Add Link to the Wix Site Menu (Header Nav)
- Open your site in the Wix Editor.
- Click the Pages & Menu icon on the left-hand toolbar.
- Click the Add Link icon (it looks like a chain link at the bottom of the panel).
- Select Web Address.
- Paste your Menu Links URL into the field. Make sure it stays on "New Window".
- Click Done. Name the link "Menu" and hit Enter.
Step 3: Connect a Wix Button to your Menu
- In the Wix Editor, select an existing button on your page or Add a new one.
- Click the Link icon on the button's mini toolbar.
- Select Web Address from the list on the left.
- Paste your Menu Links URL into the text box.
- Click Done.
Publish and Forget
Publish your Wix site to save the changes. From now on, whenever your menu text or pricing changes, you don't need to open the Wix Editor at all. Just replace the file in your Menu Links dashboard, and your Wix site automatically serves the updated PDF.
